Macy Gray was over the moon on Friday as she celebrated becoming a grandmother after her oldest daughter Aanisah Hinds gave birth to a baby boy.

The 56-year-old singer–songwriter showed off a soft smile for the camera when she posted herself cradling the adorable baby in her arms.

In her caption, she revealed that Aanisah had given birth seven weeks before her due date, but luckily the 29-year-old's child seemed to be doing well by the time Macy was cuddling up with him.

'me and gbaby! besties!' she captioned the sweet clip. '7 weeks early and growing fast. doing great. thx for asking everybody.'

The sweet moment seemed to signal an easing of tensions between Macy and her daughter after Aanisah accused her brotherTracy Melvin Hinds of hitting their mother, though the singer denied that her son had assaulted her.

Macy first shared her happy news on July 18 with a video she posted to her Instagram featuring her daughter in her hospital bed shortly after she had given birth.

The hitmaker soundtracked the clip with Nina Simone's meditative cover of the Beatles classic Here Comes The Sun, which fit the mood perfectly as her daughter was presented with her new baby boy after he had been swaddled.

'He made it! i’m a GMA! thank you God for this massive blessing!' Macy gushed in her caption. 'happy tears all over. thx to all of our fam and friends. see you at the big celebrate! LOVE on a million.'

In her subsequent video, Macy wore chunky black glasses and a cozy gray Ohio State hoodie was she held her grandson in her arms.

It wasn't clear how much time had passed between the birth and her new clip with the premature baby.

A birth seven weeks before the due date is considered moderately preterm, and babies born that early tend to be smaller than usual and can have initial difficulties with breathing and eating, according to the Mayo Clinic.

However, Macy's statement that her grandson was 'growing fast' suggested that he was doing well.

Her family conflicts came to light back in February of this year, when Aanisah filed a request for a restraining order in Los Angelesagainst Macy's son Tracy Melvin Hinds, 28.

Aanisah wrote in her filing that 'Tracy got into a physical altercation with my mom,' according to documents obtained by Page Six.

Macy's daughter claimed in court papers that her brother Tracy was also physically violent toward her and her boyfriend after they tried to defend the singer (real name: Natalie McIntyre).

Aanisah accused Tracy of being intoxicated, and she claimed that he regular became violent when he was drinking.

But Macy subsequently denied her daughter's claims that tracy had struck her.

In a statement to People, she said: 'Me and my son love each other and he would never think of causing me any physical harm.

'Outside of that, like any family, we have our issues and we’re dealing with it.'

Macy has lately been appearing on the MTV reality series The Surreal Life, on which she had documented her use of the diabetes treatment Ozempic, which is also popularly used as a weight-loss drug.

But the most recent episode of the show documented a medical emergency she suffered after a shot of the drug that left her struggling to breathe and to walk, though she had since recovered.
