  Michael makes chemistry understandable, even if it may be a little questionable being told it's one of the harder classes. He works with you if you put in the work, ask questions, go to the tutoring center, your grade is smooth sailing if you ask for help. Trust me, he's the best for Gen Chem 1 and 2.

  I don't like Chemistry and he made me like Chemistry. He lays a strong foundation for learning in class. You'll still need to study hard outside of class, but he really makes it so much easier to understand. If you have a hard time with Chemistry he is probably your best bet. Very helpful, funny, engaging, and you can tell how much he cares.

  Michael Leonard is the worst at communicating with students. He says give him 24 hours to respond but he never does or he responds right before lecture starts. I think his ego is too much for people.

  Chem 122 is a hard class. You will have to work for it; it's much more conceptually demanding vs Chem 121. But Michael explains the material very well. No hand holding here tho.. tbh if you're in Chem 122, you should be past that anyways. That said, if you're motivated, then he'll be motivated to help you. Ask smart questions, get smart answers.

  Really nice and he's a forgiving grader (doesn't always doc for sig figs). He grades the labs pretty easily and he curved one of our exams. The exams were open book/ open note and he gives you questions just for credit- like asking you just to explain a concept for ten points. If you just follow the workbook the class is easy.

  Look, he's great at teaching. However, he is the slowest grader (someone already mentioned that). There are assignments that we did in January that aren't graded. So, I don't even know my actual grade. I don't even know if I'm doing well on my assignments. There are three weeks left and I have no idea what I need to get on my final to pass.

  Michael is awesome. The material was tough but Michael really helped students understands Hes very funny and cracks jokes all the time. He makes chemistry fun and I would 100% recommend him. I wish he taught other classes because he is by far the best! The homework is pretty simple and not over bearing. Exams were spot on with his lecture material

  No textbook just $25 workbook! Michael is a fantastic lecturer and makes chemistry understandable. COVID-era labs have one person in Lab and the rest of the group communicates through a conference call. Around 3 people in 1 group. Pick a good group! If you're unsure/need clarification, Michael is there to help! Exams are similar to HW Participate

  Michael is very nice, since this year was online it was kind of annoying about him grading. He waited until the night the grades were due and posted them at 11 oclock so I wasnt able to talk to him about my grades at all. Overall super nice guy.

  Mike seemed overwhelmed by his class-load this term, and a bit out of his element (his specialty is chemistry, not physics). That said, he saved he class when the original instructor bailed, gracefully rising to last minute circ*mstance. He's incredibly good natured and is very generous about listening to and helping his students.

  So amazing. made class fun. He enjoys participation and runs the class very well. He will stand there and stare at the class until someone answers his questions though. But even if you're wrong he isn't mean about it. He just asks if the class agrees with the answer and runs it almost democratically.

  He's honestly a great professor. He'll go in depth into new topics and help students with their other classes, like physics. He has homework due before each class, so that can stack up petty easily. He does not give credit for late work. He also posts old tests online so you can study from them.

  TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. His lectures are very helpful and funny. He provides students with TONS of practice tests. DO THEM ALL IF YOU WANT AN A. He really wants you to succeed. He is somewhat of a tough grader in the lab, but he is willing to answer questions or give hints. And remember... CATions are PAWsitive. HAHAHAHA.

  Michael ensures he goes into depth with every new material presented. He really does care about his students learning what is being taught. Labs are mandatory and there is no make ups. You'll need to be willing to pay attention all class but he does a great job!

  Do as much practice as possible. He is willing to help you if needed, gives really goo feedback. Do not miss class, everything you learn in the beginning will be applied in the next lesson. Show up to lab, those are easy points. A lot of time is required for this class, I do not recommend to take aditional science courses.

  I echo the same as other students at TMCC; Prof. Leonard is one of the best professors that I have had in college. This was my 2nd time to take the class, I made a C- the first time. Prof Leonard's lectures and passion to teach helped me get through this. He is the kind of prof that brings out the best in you. If you take chem, take Prof Leonard.

  Michael is the absolute best chem teacher at TMCC. He makes chemistry so easy to understand. His tests are not easy, but easy to get an A if you have been doing the HW. He is always ready to help when you need it. I would 100% take again!

  Leonard is by far one of my favorite teachers, he makes chemistry easier to understand and actually want to learn the material. The way he acts and treats students is phenomenal, along with his caring/ funny attitude. Basically he makes Chemistry better and a lot less of a headache than the other Chem teachers. Choose this guy, he's the best!!
