  You will have to teach yourself in this class, but that is college. As a college freshman it struck me hard. DO THE WORKBOOK!!! You will not learn by watching. That was my mistake. Anyways he was a great professor! The material was hard though. I recommend reading the unit readings before the lectures and maybe even the powerpoints on your own.

  He's a good man with a nice heart. He clearly loves his daughter and family a lot. His lectures can be really boring, however. The answers to the lab are usually written - making them easy. The big drawback is the monotone nature of his lectures. Aside from that, he's a great man.

  He is a very nice and understandable professor, especially when it comes to late work. His homework and study guide really help with the exam, him and other professor also offers extra review before any test. The labs we did also match up with the lessons plan in class. Overall, his a great professor.

  One of my favorite professors! His study guides were helpful for prepping for exams and he is available to answer any questions you might have. Labs are straightforward and tied in with the material we learned in lecture. Overall an awesome professor that I would take again!

  This professor is a nice understanding guy but he is not a good teacher. The lesson plan of when and how the information was learned was all over the place and didn't make sense. Directions for assignments were unclear and he wasn't able to explain things in different ways. Every one of the study guides was completely different than the tests.

  I would recommend this professor because of how understanding he was with personal issues and how he is always available for help. He seems like he truly cares about his students and their education.

  Professor Brasel is an amazing teacher, he cares a lot about his students and obviously wants them to succeed. Sometimes lectures are boring, but he's willing to explain everything and make Chem understandable and easy.

  Do everything on time for sure. Overall, not too bad of a class. The exams are extremely hard though. I didn't even bother studying for the last one because there no way I would do better

  He was very boring, but other then that he was an easy class that didn't have lad. exams are easy and give you a practice test. Have to attended class to pass, PowerPoint are sometime upload, but not all the times.

  He's such a great professor. Lots of chemistry jokes and an enjoyable lecture. Works through problems on his practice exams in the class before your exam. Homework is 50% of your grade, and the second exam is the hardest, so go to SI sessions if you're lost, it helped me pass the class. Brasel will definitely help you out when you need it.

  He is an AMAZING teacher. his class is the only reason i got an A in Chem. The test are all multiple choice. Homework is 50% of your grade which is really helpful. Attendance is not mandatory but to learn the material you should go.

  Homework is 50% of my grade and each test (including the final) is 12.5%. The weight SAVED me. Brasel, thinks the best of his students and encourages them to push harder (which sometimes is discouraging because he believes some content is too "easy" for "geniuses" like his students), but overall is one of the nicest professors and helpful 1 on 1.

  I just got done with CHEM 121 (took my finals last night). Dr. Jeff was my professor; hes a great professor. Thats why he was voted the best teacher by TMCC Honor Society. I was so intimidated with Chemistry, but with his teaching, sense of humor, and relaxed attitude he made Chemistry a fun subject to learn. I highly recommend Dr. Jeff for CHEM.

  He cracks cheesey Chemistry jokes everyclass period. He is really nice but he not very good at making sure you actually learn the material. Labs are super easy, Homework is easy, Exams are really hard though. If you don't want to really learn the subject and want an easy A take him and do all the assignments.

  The class was great at UNR! He's a little unorganized when delivering lecture, but he always covers everything you need to know. Doing the assigned homeworks will have you passing the class. Lecture is good for exam review and some answers to homeworks. As long as you do your part, there's no reason to not get an high pass.

  His class is essentially "Chemistry Comedy Central." He's a really nice guy and he's always happy to help. It's a tough subject but he tries to make it fun and painless. He takes time going over hard problems but he can be a bit hard to follow in lecture. Labs aren't bad. Be prepared to study very hard though.

  Chemistry is hard in general, and I taught myself out of the book mainly. He doesn't really cover everything in class, but when he does examples in class it's very helpful. I don't think you should expect him to break down every little thing, which is why the book was the most helpful. He's a really fun teacher and his tests were pretty average.

  Jeff is funny, understanding and a good teacher. If you pay attention in class, study a little and do the assignments you'll get a good grade. If you have a good enough grade you don't have to take the final! I loves this class! Would recommend!

  Goes quickly but takes a lot of time to explain things if asked after class or via email. Responds quickly. Take his notes, and do the practice problems onlinein the book and you will pass pretty easily. Best teacher I've had in a while!
