  100% of the grade is based on your exams. There is no homework or participation. The entire course is self-taught. For some people, that works out well. But if you're someone who needs guidance and support, Dr. Collier is not the teacher for you. His exams are pretty easy, and he gives you a clear list of everything you'll need to know for them.

  I would not recommend Dr. Collier, the material on his tests are no where to be found in the notes he gives you or reading the book and he only grades you on test. No homework, extra credit or little quizzes. So what you get on your test effects you heavily. I retook this class the next semester with another teacher at tmcc and got a B+.

  Awful! NO instruction in lab, just a two-sided piece of paper with what you should know by the end of the year. Only grades on exams but has no outline for learning, no study guide, or homework, and zero structure. Worst prof I have ever seen. Save u-self and sign up for Dr.gray or anyone else. I have 3.8 BioGPA, if youre a genius you may do great

  This was by far the worst course I have taken in my college career. The lectures were poorly recorded and dated back to 2015. There are no powerpoints to go off of, just his lecture notes, which were extremely unorganized and sometimes flat out incorrect. Get ready to teach yourself, and if you have questions, he'll tell you to google the answer.

  Dr. Collier is by far the best A&P professor at TMCC. If you listen well to his lectures, you'll be fine. The gives an oral study guide/ review the class before each exam where he LITERALLY goes through with the exam in his hand and tells you what to know, and in what order. Go to his in person lectures because his recorded ones are sleep inducing.

  Collier knows his stuff, but the class ONLY consists of 5 lecture exams and 4 lab exams. Sometimes given on same day!! NO study guides, NO hw, NO notes or powerpoints shared. Only lectures given by him in class. He drops the lowest lecture exam, but still- this class was very hard. Basically had to teach myself-Take someone else if you can.

  Dr. Collier is a nice guy but super tough. Even though his exams are multiple choice they are hard for lecture. He doesnt give you access to the PowerPoints either. Doesnt give a study guide, just notes with objectives in the back. Lab exam is pretty easy but thats it.

  Dropped the class to take it at WNC. He doesn't have a textbook, his "lecture videos" are poorly recorded with the camera constantly moving so you can't see the slides. No lab manual, no directions, nothing. You show up and he says to look through old lab manuals and to ask questions if you have them. No guidance and instruction not a professor.

  I took the hybrid version of this course. His exams were tough, so reading and printing the provided material, listening to lecture videos, asking questions and taking good notes is essential. He was always willing to help you in person or through the portal. Very kind man genuinely interested in the subject matter.

  James is the most amazing professor I have EVER had! Hee is so enthusiastic about what he teaches making the topics even more interesting! His tests are difficult because you have to apply what you are learning to answer the question but that is what helps to make sure you actually understand the subject. He will go above and beyond to help!

  James is very helpful. Biology is hard, but he does a good job of simplifying the material and he shapes the class to her students needs. If you are willing to put in the effort he will be a great teacher. read the book, print out the power point, ask questions, attend class, and participate and you will do just fine.

  James is hands down the best prof. I have had at TMCC. He tells you exactly what he is going to be test on including what her short answer questions will be, and takes the time to review it in class. His lab practicals are the hardest part of her class. No homework, just quizzes, exams, & practicals. I enjoyed his class a lot.

  Very knowledgable and passionate about his work. He gives you the correct tools to succeed without holding your hand all the way. The material is tough, a ton of information to memorize, so the class is difficult if you don't enjoy it. He is a bit monotone, but his lectures literally give you what you need to know, so take good notes.

  James was by far the best professor I've ever had. It doesn't matter what your learning style is because he can appeal to everyone!! He is extremely willing to help his students as much as they need and no one has ever taught me how to use a microscope as well as him.

  Obviously, A&P is not a walk in the park and don't expect it to be. He drops one of the lecture exams so you have some cushion due to the fact there is no homework. You're going to have to read and Collier does a good job at letting everyone know what is coming. Lab exams are a cake walk but understand you will have to study HARD for lecture exams

  The subject matter is dense and complex which I think can be frustrating to a lot of students. Dr. Collier teaches in a straightforward way, and is clear about what to expect on his tests (which are ALL multiple choice!) He's responsive to questions. The text is helpful, but his notes are ultimately what's best to study. Really liked this class!

  He moves super-fast and doesnt give you access to his PowerPoints. The notes he gives out are straight from the book. He doesnt give enough time to take notes from class, and doesnt test from the book. He expects you to already know whats being taught and gets mad when you dont understand. Dont take him if you want to learn.
