We base our training around the "Classical Conditioning" model (a.k.a. "Pavlovian" or "respondent conditioning"). This includes developing conditioned or automatic reflexes to commands. In its simplest form (after proper conditioning), when the owner says "sit," the dog automatically sits without thinking about it. Our unique techniques ensure our program is a success no matter what behavior we encounter.

It is crucial to remember that all behavior is conditional. This means to teach or modify any behavior, we need to change the conditions that allow it to occur.
Almost all vets agree that positive reinforcement training is the most effective method of dog training. Positive reinforcement training essentially focuses on rewarding your pet for good behavior, rather than punishing bad behavior.
Passing the theoretical part of the exam is a prerequisite for participating in the practical part. After both parts of the exam have been passed, the bed bug detection dog team is certified. The certification is valid for 12 months. After the initial certification, the team must recertify every 12 months.
Clean Up. One of the most difficult tricks to train dogs is cleaning up. This refers to cleaning up whenever they're done playing with their toys. You could maybe even train your dog to pick up other kinds of trash around the house whenever they see it, but that'll make things a lot harder.
The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training.
All training should be reward based. Giving your dog something they really like - such as food, toys or praise - when they show a particular behaviour means that they're more likely to do it again. It's important to find out what your dog really likes and what their favourite things are.
It is best to start your puppy off with training that exposes them to different environments while they are between 8 and 16 weeks of age. This includes taking them to crowded areas, places with vehicular traffic, and spots with other dogs while keeping them on a short leash.
The Labrador retriever recently joined the child life team at the Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Florida. There, he can practice more than 40 commands, including pulling toy wagons, pushing drawers and retrieving items, the hospital said.
“Sit” is one of the most popular puppy commands to start with because it's easy to teach. You can use a technique called “luring” to encourage your dog to sit. All you have to do is hold a treat in front of your dog and then slowly move it back behind them. As they follow it, they'll sit.
Try ignoring the barking - at first your dog may continue or get worse but this is perfectly normal. Keep going and eventually they will understand that barking doesn't get your attention.
If waiting silently doesn't work, calmly ask them to "sit" or "lie down"
