As the game became popular, Jim Horne disclosed the algorithm, and other implementations of FreeCell began to reproduce the Microsoft deals. These deals are numbered from 1 to 32000. Newer versions from Microsoft have 1 million deals, numbered from 1 to 1000000; some implementations allow numbers outside that range.

Winning Deal: A Winning Deal is guaranteed to have at least one winning solution, and if you have trouble finding the solution it can be shown to you by using Show Me How To Win. When a Winning Deal is dealt, a gold star will appear on the toolbar. Tap the star in the toolbar to show the Winning Deals display.

Titles are a new feature within the game where players will receive new Titles as they earn Levels. These titles are earned every 3 levels. At level 2, you are given an option for the title branches of either Queen or King.

It is estimated that 99.999% of possible deals are solvable. Deal number 11982 from the Windows version of FreeCell is an example of an unsolvable FreeCell deal, the only deal among the original "Microsoft 32,000" which is unsolvable.

FreeCell Solitaire is considered one of the hardest types of solitaire. The goal of this game is to get all the cards from all four suits (Hearts, Spades, Diamonds, and Clubs) onto your foundation piles, where each can hold only one suit.

There are 52! (i.e., 52 factorial), or approximately 8×10⁶⁷, distinct deals. However, some games are effectively identical to others because suits assigned to cards are arbitrary or columns can be swapped. After taking these factors into account, there are approximately 1.75×10⁶⁴ distinct games.

For FreeCell, out of of 296,733 games played, 121,239 were won, making with win percentage 40.9%. This is interesting because every game of FreeCell except one is winnable. For Spider Solitaire 1 Suit, out of of 133,346 games played, 69,169 were won, making with win percentage 51.9%.
