Common questions about Weetbix:

What are other names for Weetbix? In New Zealand and Australia we refer to this cereal as Weetbix or Weet-Bix. But they are also known as Weetabix, Wheatabix and Wheat Biscuits in other parts of the world. No matter which brand you use, they will all work well in these recipes.

How much does one Weetbix weigh? One Weetbix weighs between 16-17g, but this can depend on the brand you use. These recipes are such a good way to use up the crumbs in the bottom of the box.

Can I use Gluten Free Weetbix instead of regular? Absolutely. Gluten Free weetbix are a little bit more expensive but a great alternative for coeliacs and people who are gluten intolerant.

Are weetbix vegan? Yes!

Can I use the crumbs at the bottom of the box? For sure. I actually prefer to use the crumbs as they might otherwise be thrown out. Just make sure you use a scale to measure out the quantity you need as stated in my recipes.

Where did Weetbix originate? Although New Zealanders have a healthy rivalry with our cousins across the ditch, I can admit Weetbix originated in Sydney, Australia.

Are Weetbix good for you? So good. Weetbix are full of healthy whole grains and are high in Vitamin B as well as Iron. They are also low in sugar.
