Willow: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Rebecca Long Observer The Disney+ Willow series was a breath of fresh air, harkening back to a bygone era of onscreen epic fantasy more focused on being delightful than profound. Rated: B May 17, 2023 Full Review Willow: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Nick Schager The Daily Beast Sustained interest, however, will be stymied by a cast of largely bland new characters and, more pressing still, a dearth of sweeping excitement. Jan 30, 2023 Full Review Willow: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Heather Hogan Autostraddle Willow gives us the lesbian Disney princess we've been waiting for, Jan 13, 2023 Full Review Willow: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (4) Pramit Chatterjee Digital Mafia Talkies There is a kind of simplicity, a sense of comfort, and an air of whimsy to the show that puts it right in the middle of the Shakespearean self-seriousness of The Rings of Power and the edgy self-seriousness of House of the Dragon. Rated: 4/5 Jul 20, 2023 Full Review Willow: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (5) Erin Maxwell LA Weekly/Village Voice Willow’s fantasy realm is filled with disproportionate contemporary sensibilities and inconsistent rules, and its Spotify ’80s hits playlist only makes things worse. Ultimately, the heart of the original movie is missing. Feb 23, 2023 Full Review Willow: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (6) Aaron Phillips But Why Tho? A Geek Community Willow Season 1 was an entertaining ride that I felt privileged to watch after growing up with the film....Kasdan has managed to conjure a story that serves as a love letter the 1988 film and in the same breath expands the lore and world-building. AnyME m HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/13/24 Full Review Tasmia C IT WAS SO GOOD. I was hooked the entire time, and i loved the actors with my life. I loved the jokes and writing, it didn't feel cringey. Sure the dialogue was weird but it made sense for the characters, like they're all dorks and they would speak like that. I LOVED THE VISUALS - ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/22/24 Full Review Teralyn Rose P I kept asking my husband questions about what was going on until he finally sighed and said, "I don't understand it any better than you do!" We even rewound a few scenes for explanations, only to discover there were none. This was a confusing jumble of anachronisms and special affects that happens to have characters with names. I've never seen such a hodge-podge of genres and cringy dialogue. It was like a preteen: experimenting with everything to understand what it is, only to discover that it's too undeveloped to reach an understanding. Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/18/24 Full Review GeovannA _ É simplesmente incríve, os atores são perfeitos e a história é muito cativante! Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/07/24 Full Review Benyamin M Annoying show and annoying actors. Ruined the entire franchise and as I say had to make it terrible by putting in cheesy American actors to film a show in Wales. They probably didn't even know what the country is. Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/03/24 Full Review Brett J Hey. I was watching that. Bring Willow back. Season 1 may have had some pacing issues at the get go, but the story was unfolding, geography and cultures were being laid out, and characters were being established. Let a flower bloom! The series definitely checked my nostalgic box with corresponding emotional responses. The characters were charming and fun. In addition, I have to say, the wizard battles at the end of the season were some of the neatest special/visual effects I've seen in a minute. So yea, Disney +. Bring that back.
