The UF transfer requirements are as follows:

- Final high school transcripts
- Official college transcripts
Students who have the best chance to gain admission to the University of Florida have done the following:
- Are in the process of completing at least 60 semester credit hours (or 90 quarter hours) or have received an Associate of Arts degree from a Florida public institution.
- Have completed their major’s stated Course Requirements. For example, prospective College of Journalism students need to have completed a slate of courses in history, statistics, and macroeconomics, among others.
- Can show competency in a foreign language.
- Earned stellar grades in their first year at a community college or 4-year university.
- Have attended an in-state community college and received an AA. These students receive priority consideration in the admissions process.
University of Florida Transfer GPA
According to the university, the minimum GPA required for consideration is 2.0. Certain programs may recommend a higher minimum. However, in our experience, students with a 3.5 GPA or better will fare best in the highly competitive UF transfer admissions process.

- What are the core skills and knowledge you hope to acquire by completing a degree in this major and how do you plan to apply these when you graduate? (200 words)

UF Transfer Decision Date
University of Florida transfer decisions are made by June 15 for those seeking to start in the fall. The spring notification date is November 15. Summer semester transfers will be notified by April 1. That said, all decisions are made on a rolling basis.
Final Thoughts – UF Transfer Acceptance Rate
In a recent cycle, 72% of accepted transfer students had already completed an associate’s degree. Two-thirds came directly from a community college. Clearly, the best way to transfer to U of F is to excel at a school in the Florida College System (formerly known as the Florida Community College System). However, high-caliber applicants from other four-year institutions may also find success.
