Places to buy Puppies

Postby swathkn » Mon Sep 24, 2012 11:55 am

Hei guys,

I am really looking for places to buy puppies. I feel kinda difficult to find in Helsinki or Espoo region or either its too costly. Can you guys please help me finding puppies like yorkshire terrier, Miniature Pug or Pug, Maltese, Chihuahua, Shih tzu, Dachshund. Basically i prefer the small breed dogs so that i can carry them easily if i travel as well as easy to maintain.

So can you guys please suggest me some breeder and how much minimum price they cost. Coz i kinda got shocked when a breeder said a chihuahua cost 2400 euros Places to buy Puppies - Finland Forum (1) I am very sure i cant afford so much. So i need you guys suggestions and advice on this Places to buy Puppies - Finland Forum (2)

Special note i love to have a chihuahua or a pug most possible Places to buy Puppies - Finland Forum (3)

Help please

Yeah, the breeder exactly. We don't condone backyard puppy farms. And dogs aren't some accessories you carry, they're meant to run.

I meant to carry them along with me when i move or relocate to some other place. If its a big size dog its quite difficult for me to take them with me if i move some where else. Places to buy Puppies - Finland Forum (5)

I never meant to carry them like a accessory. Sorry for not being clear about it. Places to buy Puppies - Finland Forum (6)

I am so NOT going to get in to this conversation again, So I will limit myself to saying:

Yes pure bred dogs are expensive in Finland, If you want want then you will have to be prepared to pay the price. Maybe you should look at other breeds, Bearded collies for example (Which really wouldn´t suit you!) go for between 800 and 1500 euros a pup, so I am sure there are some small breeds in a similar price range.

Hi!

Apart from buying pups, you can give dogs that need a home a place. We did so, almost 10 years ago, and my Dalmatian is still with us (in our case, the girl (my Dalmatian) was punished with cigarette butts, and by locking her in the toilet. 10 years on, she is a wonderful dog (bitch), wonderful with kids (incl. my 2-year old - the problem was not the dog, but the owner). If you are interested, try this link:

http://www.lemmikkipalstat.net/apula/

OTOH, if you are really interested in purchasing quality Chihuahua's http://www.monkeybone.info. She is a colleague of mine and breeds them and I believe are quality bred. According to her, the price should be around 1500eur - depending on the puppy, it can be up or less. But ask her and she will tell you more.

If considering Apula page, would be really careful which dog/breeder you choose. Not all are good and honest people there. At least my experiences, even just in getting my questions answered, are really poor.

If adopting is an option, would check here:
http://www.koirienystavat.com/en/dogs-for-adoption
and here (unfortunately pages are only in Finnish, but they will most likely speak English there, if you have any questions for them):
From Spain:

From Vyborg: already in Finland

all bitches (several young puppies):

evrybody wants a small dog.
no surprise that it's a business.
but between 1000 and 2400 euros per pup - that made my jaw drop.
bloody f**k!

i can't even begin to imagine what sort of inhumane (for lack of a better word) practices such prices might invite.

i bet they're selling hardened steel lock leashes for safely leaving your dog outside the supermarket Places to buy Puppies - Finland Forum (15)
