What is MyChart?

What does MyChart offer?

MyChart offers patients personalized and secure online access to your medical records. It enables you to securely use the internet, via browsers such as Firefox, Chrome and Edge, to help manage and receive information about your health.

With MyChart you can:

  • Schedule or Request an Appointment
  • View your health summary from the MyChart electronic health record
  • View test results
  • Request prescription refills
  • Access trusted health information resources
  • Communicate electronically and securely with your Care Team/Care Provider
  • Receive appointment reminders

When can I see my test results in MyChart?

You can view your lab and test results as soon as they are available. Your provider receives this information at the same time, so it’s possible that you may see these results before your provider has reviewed them. For common lab tests, additional information is added to MyChart to help you understand how your results compare to normal ranges. You can expect your provider to reach out directly to you about your results if there are any concerns.

If some of my health information on MyChart is not correct, what should I do?

MyChart is your Summa Health electronic medical record. Ask your provider to correct any inaccurate information at your next clinic visit. Your health information is reviewed and updated in your electronic medical record each visit. You can also update your personal demographic information within your MyChart account.

Is there a fee to use MyChart?

MyChart is a free service offered to Summa Health patients.

How do I sign up?

There are two ways you can sign up for MyChart:

Do you have an activation code?

NO - If you don’t have an activation code you can still sign up.

YES - You can find your code:

  • On the bottom of the After Visit Summary following a visit to the hospital or clinic
  • Billing statement
  • Email generated by Summa staff
  • You may have received an activation code through the email address you have on file with Summa Health

Paperless Billing

What does “paperless billing” mean?

As a patient of Summa Health and/or Summa Health Medical Group, you are automatically enrolled in paperless billing. Paperless billing means we send your billing statement(s) to you via MyChart instead of printed copies by mail. You will receive an email notification from MyChart when your paperless bill is ready, and can log in to MyChart to review and pay your bill.

What if I want to continue receiving paper statements?

You can easily opt-out of getting paperless statements using your MyChart mobile app or by visiting the MyChart website.To get started, click on the Menu button and choose Account Summary. Select the Cancel Paperless Billing link at the bottom of the Billing Summary page and confirm that you want to cancel paperless billing.

What happens if I miss a due date?

If your payment is 60 days past due, we’ll send a paper copy in the mail.

I need help opting out of paperless billing. Is there someone I can call for assistance?

Yes, please call customer service at 330.278.0160 and they can assist you.

Technical Questions

I forgot my password. What should I do?

Click on the "Forgot Password" link located on the Login page to reset your password.

How do I link my Summa Health MyChart account to another healthcare organization's MyChart Account?

1. Login to the New Summa Health MyChart
2. Click on Menu
3. Type in “Link my Accounts” in the search bar
4. Click on “Link my Accounts” under sharing
5. This will take you to the Discover Tab and here you can link your Summa Health MyChart account with other organizations.
6. Click on Link account

You will now be able to see more of your information, including medications, messages, test results and more from other healthcare organizations in your Summa Healthcare MyChart account.

How do I adjust my notification preferences?

MyChart users have the ability to control how they receive notifications from MyChart,whether via text, email, phone call or mail. These notifications do not contain personalhealth information.

What do I need to do if I want to receive text messages from Summa Health?

To begin or continue receiving text messages from Summa Health you can text START to 39213, to opt into Summa Health text messaging. You can also control your opt-in status and communication preferences from your MyChart account to specify which updates you’d like to receive via text.

Why is the number I get Summa Health texts from changing?

If you have already been receiving text messages from Summa Health, as of May 22, 2024, the number you’ve been receiving messages from will change so we can better serve your communication needs. We have expanded our texting options for communication updates related to your appointments, your Summa Health MyChart account, outstanding balances and care management.

How do I stop text messages from Summa Health?

If you no longer want to receive any text messages from Summa Health, you can text STOP to 39213 to opt out of all notifications and reminders.

Is there a cost associated with messaging my provider through MyChart?

No. MyChart provides you the ability to message your providers with any questions related to your care— free of charge.

Where can I update my personal information?

Log into MyChart. From the Menu option, on the left side of the screen, select Personal Information under the Account Settings.

Is MyChart secure?

We take great care to ensure your health information is kept private and secure. Access to information is controlled through secure access codes, personal ID's and passwords. Each person controls their password, and the account cannot be accessed without that password. Further, MyChart uses the latest industry encryption technology with no caching to automatically encrypt your session with MyChart. Unlike conventional email, all MyChart messaging is done while you are securely logged onto our website.

My activation code does not work, what should I do?

To maintain security, all activation codes do expire. You will use your activation code only once to log into MyChart for the first time. If your code expires, that’s OK – you can still sign up here.

What is the privacy policy?

MyChart is owned and operated by Summa Health and is fully compliant with federal and state laws pertaining to your privacy. Your name and email address will be treated with the same care and privacy given your health records and will never be sold or leased by MyChart. I was logged out of MyChart, what happened?

We aim to protect your privacy and security of your information. While logged into MyChart, if your keyboard remains idle for an extended period, you will be automatically logged out of MyChart. We recommend that you log out of your MyChart session if you need to leave your computer for even a short period of time.

Is my Activation Code my user ID?

No, your Activation Code is not your MyChart User ID, username or password. When you log into MyChart the first time, you will then be asked to create your own unique MyChart username and password.
