Dodgers Ticket Availability

The Dodgers are near the top in attendance nearly every season as the result of good teams, good fans, and the largest stadium in baseball. We expect high attendance again this season as the Dodgers are committed to winning, and have again spent some money to try to put a winner on the field. Although there will be tickets available through the Dodgers box office for most games, the secondary market is where you'll find the best seats. Reputable sites like Awesome Seating and Ticket NetworkLos Angeles Dodgers Seating | Best Seats at Dodger Stadium (2) usually carry a large selection of tickets, including Club passes, at reasonable prices to most games -- although you can expect to pay a premium for Opening Day, Giants games, and unique interleague games. For a deeper review of the top 5 ticket brokers and discounts, please visit BestBallParkSeats.

Section Numbers at Dodger Stadium:

Dodger Stadium follows a unique section numbering system, with EVEN numbered sections down the 1st-baseline, and odd number sections down the 3rd-baseline, starting with sections 1 and 2, behind home plate. ALSO NOTE that section numbers do not always follow a 3-digit scheme, resulting in some section numbers being repeated on various levels.

To minimize confusion, the various levels are referred to as such:

Field level = "Field Box, or Infield Box" (1 or 2 digit section numbers)
Second level = Loge Box - 3-digit 1xx sections
Club/Suite level = 3-digit 2xx sections
4th level = "Lower Reserve/Infield Reserve" - 1 or 2 digits
Highest level = "Top Deck" (behind the plate), "Reserve" (down the lines) - 1 or 2 digits
Outfield Seating - "Pavilion" 3xx sections,

Best View at Dodger Stadium

RECOMMENDED

Loge Box 101-136:

In most stadiums, sitting on field level between the dugouts will give you the best view to the action. However, with the rather flat-ish slope to the Field Box and Infield box seats, unless you are sitting in one of the first few rows, the Loge Box (second level) offers a great view to the game.

AVOID

Not every seat in a 56,000 seat ballpark is going to give you an up-close view of the action. Here are some areas to avoid if a great view of the game is your goal...

Reserve sections 22 and higher:

Not to be confused with "Lower Reserve" sections. These are at the top of the highest deck, and unless you are right around home plate, the view is FAR from the action.

Lower Reserve sections 31 and higher:

These sections aren't so high, but they are far from the plate. The higher the section number, the further from the plate you are, with section 31 in left field and section 32 in right field being just a little too much in the outfield for our tastes.

Best Value for Dodgers games

RECOMMENDED

Top Deck 1-13:

The cheapest seats in the park, starting as low as $12 face value, they are high up, but at least they are around the plate. And there are children's (14 and under) discount day-of-game tickets for $7.

Right Field Pavillion 302-316:

The area offers a decent lower level view for a fraction of the price you'd pay to be behind the plate. At one point, it offered All You Can Eat food/drink items, but that practice ceased after the pandemic.

AVOID

Field Box VIP/MVP:

These seats close to the action are befitting for the rich and famous. As such, I can't really recommend these as a "value pick" for the average fan.

Best Seats for Families at Dodger Stadium

RECOMMENDED

Left Field Pavillion, sec 301-315:

The Dodgers offer day-of-game discount tickets for children aged 4-12 (3 and under is free). Tickets are $10 - marked down from face value of $18, and go on sale 90 minutes before game time. The lower number sections (301, 303, 305) are closer to the foul pole and plate, with 301 next to the Dodger bullpen - so these would be the preferred sections in this area. Like most ballparks, right field is the "sun field", so you don't need to worry about looking straight into the sun as you watch the action from out here.

Top Deck sections 1-13:

Although high up, this section also offers a day-of-game discount for children's tickets - $7 for children 4-12, $15 adults. These seats are behind and around the plate.

AVOID

Reserve sections 34 and higher:

The price on these seats is very tempting, especially when paying full price for a child's ticket; Be warned that the action is so far away, it may not hold your own attention, let alone a child's.

Best Seats to star-gaze at Dodgers games

For nearly every game, you can expect to see some Hollywood stars at a Dodgers game. Where you will find them...

RECOMMENDED

Field Box VIP/MVP, Sections 1-25, and Infield Box 27-39 (odds):

Of course, the most expensive seats around home plate and the dugouts, particularly in the ODD numbered sections (down the third base line near the Dodgers dugout).

Suites 201-233 (or Club 229-261):

Good Luck getting a pass for a Suite, but the Club Sections 229-261 are on the same level as the suites. Who knows who you may be sitting near?

AVOID

Cheap Seats, outfield seats:

Actually, come to think of it, you may spot some B-list stars in the making, stars from the studios in the Valley out here, and maybe even a few good men, but don't expect to find Jack Nicholson here!

Best Seats for Impressing Guests at Dodgers games

RECOMMENDED

Dugout Club:

Face value $300+; The most exclusive area of the stadium, it offers an all-inclusive experience (complimentary high-end buffet of Wolfgang Puck and Levy Restaurants and non-alcoholic beverages) and access to an adjacent club with a martini lounge, and restaurant style seating. Who knows, you may see a star or two!

Dodger Stadium's Best Sections for Getting a Baseball

RECOMMENDED

Field Box 49-53, and 48-52:

The place to be during batting practice (or games) to catch homeruns. The even sections are in the right field corner, with the odd sections in the left field corner. Dodgers batting practice will run from 2.5 hours before game time to roughly 1-hour,40-minutes (100 minutes) before, with visitors BP running from 90 minutes through 45 minutes prior to gametime. Bring your glove!

Left Field Pavillion 301-315, Right Field Pavillion 302-316:

This is where the homeruns land. Get there early (2 hours before gametime) to catch your souvenir during batting practice. Lower numbered sections are closer to the line, and the bullpens - increasing your odds slightly of catching a ball.

AVOID

Reserve sections 40 and higher:

Balls just don't get hit way up here.

Best Seats for Getting Autographs at Dodger Stadium

RECOMMENDED

Field Box 49-53, and 48-52 (front row):

These sections are near the playing field and bullpens, where players warm up and stretch. If you are looking for to get autographs, it is advisable to get to the stadium when gates open. The best time to get Dodger autographs is from the time the gates open until 90 minutes before game time in the odd numbered sections down the left field line. For the visiting team, go to the even numbered sections 48-52 in the right field corner from 45-90 minutes before the game. You don't necessarily need a seat in these sections to be there during batting practice, but beware that the ushers may ask you to leave if you don't have a ticket for the section.

Aisle 27 - Kids Corral:

Before every game in the Kids Corral (on the warning track in front of Aisle 27), current Dodgers sign autographs for children. Come early (90-120 minutes before gametime) for your best chance!

AVOID

Showing up less than 45 minutes before gametime:

MLB rules prohibit players from signing during this timeframe

Dodger Stadium's unique seats

RECOMMENDED

Dodger Stadium does not have any signature seats that are unique unto themselves...but Dodger Stadium offers star-gazing at a regular season game that cannot be matched elsewhere in the Bigs. As mentioned above, the best seats for stargazing are:

Field Box VIP/MVP, Sections 1-25, and Infield Box 27-39 (odds):

Of course, the most expensive seats around home plate and the dugouts, particularly in the ODD numbered sections (down the third base line near the Dodgers dugout).

Suites 201-233 (or Club 229-261):

Good Luck getting a pass for a Suite, but the Club Sections 229-261 are on the same level as the suites. Who knows who you may be sitting near?
