Can you use off brand K cups in Keurig? ›

You are not limited to brewing only Keurig® pods in the K-Elite™ coffee maker. However, we recommend brewing with our Keurig® branded K-Cup® pods to help ensure your beverage tastes its best.

When using a reusable K-Cup, it is recommended to use 1-2 tablespoons of finely ground light roast coffee. Depending on your taste preference, you can adjust the amount within this range. Keep in mind that too little coffee may result in a weak cup, while too much might lead to a bitter taste.

Medium grind is the best for your Keurig: Medium grind will produce a cup of coffee that is not too strong or too weak. Grind your beans at home to get the best flavor and consistency: Grind your own beans for the best cup of coffee you can get.

The My K-Cup® Universal Reusable Coffee Filter is designed to work with all Keurig® brewers. The filter is shipped with an adapter attached for use in our Plus Series models. If you do not have a Plus Series model, simply remove the adapter for use in your brewer.

How full should I fill my reusable K-cup? ›

If you're brewing a single cup, fill the reusable K-cup to the first line. For a travel-sized mug, add grounds up to the second line. Put the cap back on after you add the grounds. Avoid filling the K-cup past the max fill line at the top since it could make your Keurig clog.

Clean with vinegar. White vinegar is a natural cleaner that can help remove any residue or buildup from your reusable coffee pod. Fill a bowl with a solution of equal parts water and vinegar and let the pod soak for a few minutes. Then, rinse thoroughly with water.

When choosing ground coffee, look for medium-roast beans as they work best with reusable coffee pods. Also, make sure the coffee is ground to the right consistency - a fine-medium grind or an espresso grind will ensure a good brew.
