If you use Cash App (review), you’ve probably heard about Cash App flips and wondered if Cash App flipping is real or a scam.

Cash App makes sending and receiving money simple. The mobile payment platform has a ton to offer. Customers can purchase stocks and bitcoin on Cash App for as little as $1, get their paycheck up to two days early, and have access to free ATM withdrawals (if they have at least $300 coming in each month).

Unfortunately, there are a lot of scammers looking to take money from people on there through Cash App flips.

The Cash App flip scam involves someone sending you a message or putting a post on social media that says if you send them a certain amount of money, then you will get a larger amount sent back to you.

For example, someone might ask you to send them $10 on Cash App and they’ll send you $100 back. Or they may ask for $100 and they’ll send you $800 back, etc.

Of course, this is a total scam. No one is going to send you free money for the sake of it.

The Cash App flip scam comes in many forms. For example, one person might tell you that the cash they’re going to send you is part of a Cash App giveaway deal, and another might tell you that there’s a money glitch on the Cash App system, so you need to take advantage of this opportunity to get free cash before they fix the glitch on the app, or that they will invest the money you send them in the stock market or some other venture, and give you five times your cash back.

Whatever the story is, it’s a scam!

As I said above, there are many different types of Cash App scams. I’ll cover a few of them in the “Cash App flips to avoid” section below.

For now though, just be aware that Cash App flips are typically scams. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t any legit ways to get free cash sent to your account.

Legit Cash App Flips to Get Free Cash to Your Account

There are legitimate ways to make money on Cash App. But, you have to avoid scams. Now, below, I will list some legit Cash App flips. These are legitimate ways you can get free money to your Cash App account. They don’t involve you having to pay some random scammer!

They are really simple tips that anyone can use. I will say though that they do require some effort on your part. There’s no such thing as a free lunch as they say. To get money, you generally have to put in some time and effort. Not a lot, but some.

Still though, as I said, these options are really easy, and anyone can use them to get free money to their Cash App account.

So, follow these tips if you want to earn free Cash App money.

1. Get an invitation bonus

Cash App offers a $5 signup bonus if you use a referral code when you sign up. This is a legit way to get money on Cash App.

So, if you haven’t already signed up for a Cash App account, and you have a friend or family member who has an account, then ask them to invite you to the platform.

They can then provide you with an invite code.

You can use the invite code of the person who invited you to Cash App to receive your bonus.

Now, to get the bonus, you will need to send $5 using a newly linked debit card within 14 days of entering the code.

I know, I know, you’re having to spend money, and that’s what I said not to do earlier, but there’s a way around it!

Basically, you send the $5 to someone you know and trust, like a friend or family member, get your bonus, and then just ask that friend or family member to send $5 to you.

You get the bonus and your original $5 sent right back to you. It’s a legit Cash App flip!

2. Take surveys with Pinecone Research

If you find yourself with some spare time at some point as we all, occasionally in some cases, do then I would highly recommend heading on over to Pinecone Research and completing some surveys.

Yes, this site really will pay you just to share your opinion. It pays you around $3 per survey. It’s an easy way to bring in some extra cash.

Now, once you have completed surveys, you’ll get paid via bank transfer. On Cash App, you can link your bank account and then use it to add money to your Cash App account.

So, you can simply send the money you earned on Pinecone research to the same bank that’s linked to your Cash App account and use it to fund your Cash App balance. It’s a really easy way to get free cash, and you don’t have to worry about being scammed and losing out on your hard-earned money!

3. Refer a Friend

Another legit Cash App flip that you can try is referring a friend. You can earn a bonus when your friend uses your invite code to send $5 or more from a newly created Cash App account.

Now, in order to get this bonus, you will need to ensure that your friend:

Enters the invite code when they sign up.
Links a new debit card or bank account to their Cash App account. People under 18 can activate a Cash Card instead.
Sends $5 within 14 days of entering the invite code

Like I said before, Cash App flips are often scams and you should definitely avoid them. If you are interested in flipping things for a profit though, I would recommend retail arbitrage. Now, I will say that this one requires a little more effort than the other options on the list because it involves a few more steps and it’s not something as simple as just doing tasks on your phone and then getting free cash in return.

No, retail arbitrage involves you purchasing an item and then selling it for a profit.

For example, you could purchase a pair of shoes for 50% off. You pay $50 for the shoes instead of $100. Then you resell the shoes for $80, making a $30 profit on the sale. The customer still saves 20% off the RRP.

Or, for example, you could purchase a piece of furniture that was in need of a bit of TLC to get it restored and looking great, and then you sell it for more than what you bought it for.

You can purchase discounted products and get great value for money at places like:

The thrift store
The dollar store
The clearance section of any store
TJ MAXX
Marshalls
Ross
Garage sales/yard sales

Now, what’s even better than selling an item for more money than you paid for it is not paying for the item at all!

You can actually get free stuff online on websites like Craigslist and OfferUp and then resell them online for a 100% profit.

Once you have purchased your discounted items, have purchased items that you refurbish, or have gotten free items from Craigslist or OfferUp, you can sell them online.

Here are some places to sell stuff:

You can then send the money you make from selling this stuff right to your Cash App account. If the seller is willing to pay you directly via Cash App, then you can get money right to your account. Otherwise, you could ask for payment by bank transfer, or PayPal and then move the money to Cash App.

6. Complete fun tasks like playing games and watching videos on Swagbucks

Sending money to someone isn’t a great idea but trading a little time and effort on Swagbucks to get some free Cash App money certainly is. Swagbucks is a reward website that will pay you for doing lots of really fun and easy tasks online.

With Swagbucks, you can get paid to do tasks like:

Watching videos
Shopping online
Browsing the internet
Completing offers
Taking surveys
Reading paid emails
Playing games

For doing these tasks, Swagbucks will reward you with points called “Swag Bucks” (SB). You can redeem your points for lots of rewards including money to your PayPal account.

Unfortunately, there is no way to directly transfer money from PayPal to Cash App, but there’s a workaround.

Simply follow these 5 simple steps:

Step One: Do fun tasks on Swagbucks and earn points you can redeem for rewards, like free PayPal cash.
Step Two: Transfer your earnings to your PayPal account.
Step Three: Link the same bank account that you have linked to your Cash App account to your PayPal account.

Cash App often runs sweepstakes that you can enter to win free money.

You can keep up to date with Cash App’s sweepstakes by following the company on its official Twitter account and/or Instagram account.

But make sure you look out for scams. As I mentioned earlier, Cash App flips come in many different forms, and one is a “giveaway.” So, there are a lot of Cash App sweepstakes scams out there.

Only enter sweepstakes from the official Cash App Twitter or Instagram page. Both are blue tick accounts.

In its sweepstakes, the company often gives away $100s in free cash deposited right into your Cash App account and sometimes even bitcoin.

For example, in 2020, the company had a Super Cash App Friday sweepstake, where residents of the United States could enter for the chance to win cash. In this sweepstakes, 10 people could win a prize of $500 each, 20 people could win a prize of $250 each, and 100 people could win a prize of $100 each.

So, it’s worth following the company on social media and entering these sweepstakes.

8. Flip your grocery shopping for free cash with Ibotta

Ibotta is a cashback app that you can use to get rebates on your grocery purchases. So, you can essentially get free money to add to your Cash App account when you buy stuff at the grocery store.

Ibotta will give you a rebate when you purchase specific items and upload a photo of your receipt as proof of purchase. You can get anywhere from $1 to $3 or more back for each product. You can get even bigger rebates than that though in some cases.

With Ibotta, you can have your earnings sent to your bank account or PayPal account or get a gift card.

Here’s how to get rebates with Ibotta in-store:

Browse offers before you head out to the store. Simply, choose a retailer, add offers for the items that you plan to purchase, and then head out to the store.
Once you have checked out, you can simply submit a photo of your receipt in the app, and you’ll get a rebate.
You can view your cashback in your Ibotta earnings within 24 hours.
Once you reach $20 in earnings, you can withdraw your money to your bank account. Then, you can send the free cash over to your Cash App.

You can also get cashback on your online purchases with the Ibotta browser extension and the mobile app.

9. Get paid to play games, watch videos, and do other fun tasks on QuickRewards

The next option on the list allows you to get cash just for doing easy online tasks, such as:

You can have your earnings sent to your PayPal account. So, there are no direct bank transfers available, but you can just use that workaround that I mentioned earlier.

PayPal allows you to link your bank account. So, just link the same bank account that you have linked to your Cash App account to your PayPal account.

Transfer your free money from PayPal into your bank account and then use the free money to add to your Cash App account.

10. Invest in Bitcoin

Okay, so another way that you can earn cash on Cash App is to invest in Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a new kind of money called Cryptocurrency.

If you want a really fun way to get some free money to your Cash App account, then I would recommend you try Mistplay.

Mistplay recommends new games to you. You can download them and start playing to earn Units. The longer you play, the more you earn. Units can be redeemed for money to your PayPal account.

Although there are no direct bank transfers available, you can just use that workaround that I mentioned earlier. Just link the same bank account that you have linked to your Cash App account to your PayPal account. Transfer your free money from PayPal into your bank account and then add the free money to your Cash App account.

12. Invest in stocks

Another legit way to flip your cash with Cash App is to invest in stocks.

Cash App allows you to invest in stocks with Cash App Investing.

Cash App Investing accounts are self-directed individual brokerage accounts.

You can purchase as little or as much stock as you want to, and you can invest with only $1.

So, you can get started with investing for as little as a dollar.

Cash App Investing accounts are free to open, and you aren’t charged any commission fees when you buy or sell stock.

Simply make your first stock purchase using Cash App Investing to open an account.

Cash App Investing is available to U.S. residents only. To open an account, you must be at least 18 years old and be able to provide the following:

Full name
Date of birth
Social Security number
U.S. residential address
Employment status and name of employer

Cash App Investing is required to collect this information in order to verify your identity and comply with applicable regulations.

Now, investing in stocks can be a good way to grow your money, but investing is a risk. Stocks are not guaranteed to make you money. You could lose the cash that you invest. Stocks can, of course, be profitable, if you can buy low and sell higher.

Just don’t invest more money than you can afford to lose.

How to buy stocks on Cash App Investing

Here’s how you can buy stock using Cash App Investing:

On your Cash App home screen, tap the Investing tab.
Tap the search bar and enter a company name or ticker symbol
Select the company whose stock you want to purchase
Press Buy
Choose a preset amount or tap … to enter a custom amount
Follow the prompts to verify your personal information
Confirm with your PIN or Touch ID

Stock can be bought using the funds in your Cash App balance. If you don’t have enough funds available though, the remaining amount will be debited from your linked debit card. After your order is filled, you’ll be able to view your investment. Just tap the Investing tab on your Cash App home screen and scroll down to My Portfolio.

How to sell stock on Cash App Investing

Here’s how you can sell stock on Cash App investing:

Tap the Investing tab on your Cash App home screen
Scroll down to Stocks Owned
Select the company whose stock you want to sell
Press Sell
Select a preset amount or tap … to enter a custom amount
Confirm with your PIN or Touch ID

The amount of your sale may be automatically deposited in your Cash App balance. Depending on market activity though, it might take up to 2 business days for the sales proceeds to be deposited in your Cash App balance.

Cash App Flips to Avoid

Above, I listed 12 legit Cash App flips. These work great for getting extra money to your Cash App account.

Sadly, there are a lot of Cash App flips out there that are total scams, and you should definitely avoid them.

I’ll outline a few of them below.

Turning $100 to $800 on Cash App

With this flip, the scammer promises the user that if they invest $100, they will see an $800 return on their investment. The scam is also sometimes known as a “money circle.” The scammer will usually say that if you join the group and pay with Cash App, you will be next in line to collect your $800 within a few hours.

The scam is often similar to a traditional pyramid scheme, where they may ask you to get your friends to join as well.

With some of these scams, the scammer may try to seem legit by sending you a small amount of money first. So, they might tell you to send them just $3, and then they’ll flip that money for you and send you $30 back.

The scammer may even say they will only do a small flip at first to see if you are trustworthy (the audacity, I know!). So, once the scammer has deemed you trustworthy, they will do a larger flip.

The next time, the scammer will ask for a larger amount, so $100, and promise to get $800 back to you.

Because the scammer sent money back once, you might assume they will again. Sadly, you would be wrong.

Basically, you won’t see that $100 you invested again, and the scammer just scammed you and anyone else participating in the group out of your hard-earned money. Once you have sent the cash, you won’t hear from the scammer again.

Overall, the Cash App $100 to $800 scheme is not a legit Cash App flip. It is a scam!

Cash App money flip software

Another scam that you should avoid is the Cash App money flip software that’s offered by scammers. Scammers want you to download their software, and you think it’s a legit way to get money, but really it just gives them a way to hack your account.

This could, potentially, lead to them withdrawing your funds. So, do not accept any request to download Cash App money flip software. It’s a scam, no matter how legit it may appear to be.

Bitcoin flipping scam

Another common Cash App flip is the Bitcoin flip. Basically, with this one, someone will offer to invest in Bitcoin on your behalf.

In reality, the scammer just takes your money rather than investing it for you.

This is another one of those scams to avoid. Never allow a stranger to invest for you. You can invest in Bitcoin yourself through Cash App for as little as $1, as I mentioned on the list above.

Cash App Check Flip

Finally, we have the Cash App check flip. Again, it’s another scam!

Basically, the scammer says that if you send them some money through Cash App, they will send you a check for a large amount in return.

Rather than you ending up with extra cash for doing the scammer a “favor,” you end up losing the cash you initially sent and then the check you get will bounce.

And, you’ll never hear from the scammer again, you just lost cash, sadly!

So, this is another Cash App flip scam that you should avoid.

What About the $750 Cash App Reward?

Okay, so what about this $750 Cash App reward that’s been floating around the internet? Is that real, can you really get $750 in free cash sent to your Cash App account?

Well, if you’re willing to put in a whole lot of effort, and your own money, then…maybe!

Let me explain a little more about how this one works.

Essentially, there are these posts appearing on social media sites like TikTok (and even on the radio in some cases) and they claim to give you free money to your Cash App account. All you need to do is complete a set number of Deals within a specified timeframe.

You visit a site, sign up, and then start completing deals. Depending on the number of Deals you complete, you can earn between $5 and $1,000.

To claim a $750 reward, you will need to complete 20 Deals from 5 levels.

You can choose to complete fewer Deals to claim a lower value reward and more Deals to earn a higher value reward. As I said, these sites claim to offer rewards of up to $1,000.

Each level requires you to complete a set number of Deals in order to earn a specific reward amount and progress to the next level.

Here’s what’s required to earn rewards:

$5 reward: This requires you to complete one Level 1 and one Level 2 Deals (2 Deals total).
$100 reward: This requires the completion of one Level 1, one Level 2, and three Level 3 Deals (5 Deals total).
$250 reward: This requires completion of one Level 1, one Level 2, three Level 3 Deals and five level 4 Deals (10 Deals total).
$500 reward: This requires completion of one Level 1 deal, one Level 2 deal, three Level 3 Deals, five Level 4 Deals, and five Level 5 Deals (15 Deals total).
$750 reward: This requires completion of one Level 1 deal, one Level 2 deal, three Level 3 Deals, five Level 4 Deals, and ten Level 5 Deals (20 Deals total).
$1,000 reward: This requires completion of one Level 1 deal, one Level 2 deal, three Level 3 Deals, five Level 4 Deals, and fifteen Level 5 Deals (25 Deals total).

This reward is offered by a few different sites, including:

Flash Rewards
Reward Wizard

And from my research, it seems as though all of the sites that offer the $750 Cash App reward are all operated by RewardZone USA, LLC.

Overall, the $750 reward isn’t worth it. You have to complete anywhere between 2 and 25 Deals. And, many of these require you to make a payment in order to complete them.

For example, you may have to pay to subscribe to a service. And some of the subscription Deals are only achievable if you don’t quickly cancel or sign up just to opt out a short time after.

So, if you forget to cancel your subscription once you have the reward, then you could end up being charged. This means you can end up paying for goods and services that you didn’t even want in the first place.

Also, some users complained that Deals they complete are not credited. So, they basically put in effort for nothing.

There are also some concerns over the legitimacy of RewardZone USA, LLC. There are complaints about RewardZone USA, LLC on the Better Business Bureau (BBB).
