| My recipe is similar by: Anonymous I use a mixture of Dawn dish soap and hydrogen peroxide. 40/60 - put it in a squirt bottle, spray on spot, let sit for 15 minutes and use a scrub brush or sponge. After it dries, I vacuum. |

| Worked on blood stain!! by: Sandy My husband cut his finger and 5 large drops of blood ended up on my cream colored wool carpet. The more I tried to get the blood out, the worse it spread. I was sick to my stomach at the resulting approx 3 foot x 5 foot brownish orange stain (from 5 drops of blood!!!). I spent 5 days using various store bought cleaners and homemade recipes with no success—it just kept spreading. I then found this recipe and OMG it worked. It took 3 applications over a 3 day period with vacuuming between each and the stain in gone!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! |

| Spray not necessary by: BJ I mix this up in a little container, not a spray bottle. I rub it with a damp cloth on the stands and leave it there until later and either brush out or vacuum out. This works great on the stains I get in my camper carpet. |

| Dawn dish soap-- all the way! by: Jennifer Whitt Over a decade ago I heard a guy comment, "I only use Dawn!" I hadn't thought of it before, so I started paying attention. I don't care if it's an emergency stain remover when you get something on your shirt: nothing beats Dawn! I've tried all sorts of dishwashing liquids now, and nothing is as strong. (oh, and for grease over your stove range hood, use LA Awesome!) |

| option by: Anonymous I read the comments and tried sprinkling the baking soda on the stains first then the spray. I waited until it was all dry and the stains from the puppy came out! This is my go to method from now on for stains in the carpet.

| baking soda clogs spray by: Anonymous This worked well with a dish scrubber dipping into the solution in Tupperware. But trying it in 2 different spray bottles the backing soda clogged both sprayers. |
|
| Add water to mixture by: Dmax The mixture will be too thick to spray so you will need to add water to the spray bottle so it will spray onto the stains. |

| Missing my steam spot cleaner - till now? by: Terri Mc Well I just made the "recipe". Like many people, I found the mixture too thick for my spray bottle. It is about the consistency of dish soap, so used it straight. I think I'm going to save the Meyer's dish-soap bottle and make up a triple batch to put in it. Then I can squeeze out as munch as needed. It looks like the areas I scrubbed came out. Waiting for it to dry and vacuum. This will be my go-to until I can get a little steam spot cleaner machine again. |

| No baking soda!!! by: Cgirl1966 I didn't have any baking soda so I added a little Biz liquid detergent. My dog was getting sick from some chocolate and it took the dark brown stain right out of my cream colored carpet. |

| Too Thick by: Pat I simply could not get the baking soda to dissolve. I have tried all day, shaking the bottle every time I went thru the kitchen, but to no avail. I just tried Dawn & peroxide and it has already made a difference. |

|
| Too thick by: Trinidad I tried two different sprayers and it was just too thick and clogged up. I ended up spreading it with a sponge. I thought a bit and if I had an empty stain remover gel container that has the bristles, it would be perfect. |

| Amazing by: Anonymous This an amazing. When my mom cut the top of her foot she also cut an artery. I use a commercial cleaner and still left a blood stain. I put this on, let it sit until it was dry and vacuumed. No stain left. |
