How to get BART alerts? ›

Text "START" to 732278 to receive BART Service Alerts. Message and data rates may apply. You will receive up to five (5) message per week. Text "HELP" for help.

All fines must be paid in order to receive a Level 2 Hearing. The hearing is conducted by a third party contracted by BART. These hearings can be conducted in person or in writing. If you citation is not dismissed at the Level 2 the only recourse is to request a court hearing.

Youth & Senior Discount

Youth 5-18 years old get 50% off with a youth Clipper card. Seniors age 65 and over get 62.5% off with a Senior Clipper card.

During peak commute hours, nearly 25,000 people ride through the Transbay Tube into Downtown San Francisco. BART's Pittsburg/Bay Point (yellow) line carries the largest number of people. The busiest stations in the BART system are Embarcadero and Montgomery.

Verify Notification Settings

Open the main Settings app on your device, then tap on Notifications. Ensure that BART is listed and is not set to Off. Tap on BART and make sure that Allow Notifications is enabled. You will most likely want Show on Lock Screen to be enabled as well.

Unless you are under 5 years of age, you cannot ride BART for free. Various people are eligible for fare reductions, but you cannot ride free.

You do need to register one or more license plates on your account so BART knows that your vehicle has paid for Reserved parking.

Is BART cheaper with a Clipper card? ›

You can get a 6.25% discount on BART rides ($45 for a $48 ticket or $60 for a $64 ticket) when you load BART HVD (High Value Discount) tickets on your adult Clipper card.

BART accepts the following on a Clipper card: Cash value: For single rides. Clipper customers get discounts on one-way fares of 50 cents for adults, 25 cents for youth and 19 cents for senior and disabled riders.

BART has 8 DMU train cars which each have a seating capacity of 104. 70 mph maximum; 35 mph average, including 20-second station stops. For BART to Antioch DMU trains, the maximum speed is 75 mph; 60 mph average.

The official BART app is for trip planning, real time departures, advisories, contactless in-app parking payment, in-app notifications and more.

Open the Wallet app on your iPhone and tap the plus “+” icon. Select “Clipper card” under Transit, tap Continue. Select “Transfer Existing Card” and follow prompts. Place your Clipper card on a flat surface and rest your iPhone on the bottom half to complete the transfer.

Hours and frequencies

Trains on each primary service run every 20 minutes, except the busy Yellow Line, which operates every 10 minutes on weekdays.
