Alternate Bloons Rounds/Strategies (2024)

Tips[]

• This game mode is identical to Bloons Adventure Time TD extreme difficulty that it contains camo, regrowth, and fortified bloon modifiers.
  • Use similar approach as this difficulty in BATTD does. Just like BATTD trinkets counterpart, Bonus Monkey!, More Cash, Mana Shield, and Pre-Game Prep knowledge might be helpful.
  • Actually, this game mode is harder until Round 40, as Fortified MOABs with this modifier can be spawned on Round 42 in BATTD.
  • Beating Round 100 in this game mode is similar to Bloons Adventure Time TD Impoppable Difficulty with Camo, Regrowth, and Fortified Bloon modifiers, as Round 100 in here spawns a Fortified BAD.
• There are a number of noteworthy rounds to look out for that can be an unexpected surprise, especially those rounds that are not expected at all in normal games. It is best to take note of the rounds at which each bloon type would appear, especially bloon types with Camo and/or Fortified.
• Due to the drastic increase in early game regrow bloons over standard modes, it is often wise to use a Heart of Oak druid as a low-cost means of countering them.
• As there are more rounds that consists Fortified MOABs and Fortified BFBs, Shattering Shells might be a good choice for this game mode. If you are going to beat Round 100 in this game mode, Blooncineration is highly recommended, as Fortified DDTs appear on Rounds 93, 97, 99, and 100.
• As DDTs appear more frequently compared by normal gameplay, sustainable DDT countermeasures are the must, when you are going to beat Round 100 to get an insta-monkey. DDTs could be very dangerous when they are Fortified (Rounds 93, 97, and 99), or rush alongside numerous strong blimps (Rounds 92 and 96).
• For the first few rounds up to Round 33, one of the best approaches is to start off with a Ninja Monkey and then a 1/1/0 Sniper for popping early-game stronger bloons. On each of the dangerous rounds on the early-game, up to Round 33, it is best to do the following to beat some of the few dangerous rounds in this mode:
  • The first Camos appear on Round 5, so a Ninja Monkey or a 0/0/2 Dart Monkey should be prepared at the start. Because they are so early on, a player must have cheap camo protection on hand.
  • The first Lead Bloons appear on Round 10. Any lead-popping power should do, with the cheapest being a 0/0/0 Alchemist. Set the targeting on the Alchemist to strong to prioritize popping lead bloons. Other cheap lead-popping power choices include 0/0/0 Bomb Shooter, 1/0/0 Druid and 0/1/0 Wizard Monkeys.
  • The first Camo Lead appears on Round 24. A 1/1/0 Sniper or 0/1/2 Wizard Monkey should be bought and set on Strong. Alternatively, a 2/0/0 Alchemist + Ninja Monkey can be used.
  • The first Zebra Bloons and Rainbow Bloons appear on Round 26. It is helpful to have some solid popping power, such as Bloonjitsu with Distraction.
  • The first Ceramic Bloons appear on Round 32. Glueing, freezing, distracting or otherwise slowing the progress of the bloons is helpful for slowing down progress of Ceramics and separating the threats.
  • The Round 40 Fortified MOAB is very tough to beat, especially for inexperienced players. There are many ways to counter it though. 0-2-0 Alchemist can deal a massive 20 damage to Fortified MOAB-class, and combined with decent other defenses, it should be handled pretty easily. With Level 7+ Benjamin, only the MOAB layer needs to be worried about; just tank the MOAB with a Spike Factory at the end of the track once he trojans the MOAB. Alternatively, Level 5+ Captain Churchill along a good straight line path with the Armor Piercing Shells ability active can easily beat the Fortified MOAB single-handedly.
  • Ezili can pop both Camo and Lead regardless of her level, making her useful for the early rounds.
  • Sauda is another viable alternative thanks to having camo detection. Level 3 ability may also make Round 10 easier to beat with careful timing.

Strategies[]

• First, use Churchill as your hero. Place a Ninja Monkey with good track coverage, start the game and put down a Wizard Monkey to upgrade to 0-1-0 by round 10. Eventually, upgrade him to 0-2-2 and now you can upgrade your ninja to a 2-0-1 or 2-0-2.
• Place Churchill down, on a straight line, before round 40, and before, upgrade your ninja to 3-0-2 and your wizard to 0-3-2.
• When the MOAB appears use Churchill's ability when in range.
• After that, you can place down high damage towers until the end. Some good ones are 2-3-0 Submarine upgrading the ninja to tier 4, as well as the wizard.
• Behind where you placed Churchill, you can place a 2-4-0 Dartling Gunner and with good track coverage, a 4-2-0 Engineer. With that, you're basically set, as long as you use your abilities when things get scary. Good Luck, Have Fun.

OR...

1. You don't need to place any heroes. Place a Ninja Monkey with good track coverage, upgrade it to 1-0-0, then you can place down a Glue Gunner across and slightly before the Ninja Monkey.
2. Upgrade your Ninja Monkey to 1-0-1, then upgrade your Glue Gunner to 2-0-0. (Don't worry, your Glue Gunner can damage Lead Bloons!)
3. For Camo Leads, place an Ice Monkey across from the Glue Gunner and upgrade it to 2-0-0 ASAP.
4. Next, upgrade your Glue Gunner to 2-1-0 or 2-2-0.
5. Get a 1-1-0 Sniper Monkey and upgrade it to 2-2-0 if you can, but I strongly recommend you to not do that right away.
6. Place 2 more Sniper Monkeys and upgrade them, one with 2-0-3 and one with 0-2-3.
7. Since this is ABR, you can repeat step 6 one more time, but one monkey has 2-0-2 and the other 0-2-2.
8. Place a Mortar Monkey, set the target to the beginning of the course and upgrade it to 0-0-3, then upgrade it to 0-2-3. Prioritize the 3rd path first so that non-Camo detector Monkeys can "see" the Bloon.
9. Place a Druid and upgrade it to 1-0-0, then upgrade it to 1-3-0.
10. Place 1 or 2 Dartling Gunners and upgrade them to 4-2-0. Make sure their targets are locked at the beginning of the course.
11. Finally, you can upgrade your Sniper Monkeys to X-X-4. Good Luck, Have Fun.
