July is just around the corner and with it comes fun summer events for all.

The month starts with Fourth of July festivities, but the fun doesn't end there. StocktonCon Summer, Splash Fest, and Stockton Tequila Festival are just a few more events residents can look forward to.

Here are 15 things to do in Stockton this July.

Concerts in the Park

Concerts in the Park continue at Victory Park in Stockton at 1001 N. Pershing Ave. at 6 p.m. every Wednesday. There are five concerts scheduled in July.

According to the Visit Stockton website the concerts are free, and lawn chairs and picnics are welcomed.

4th of July Parade and Festival 2024

Fourth of July celebrations will return to downtown Stockton this year with a parade, festival and fireworks.

The United Veterans Council of San Joaquin County is hosting the 4th of July parade in downtown Stockton. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. Former NASA Astronaut José M. Hernández will be the parade grand marshal.

Parade gates will open at 12 p.m. at the Weber Point Events Center, Stockton city officials said.

"Artisanal food vendors and an array of food trucks will be on-site to entice every palate. For more family fun, there will be activities for kids, including inflatable slides, face painting, and the Weber Point Events Center water feature will be available for all to enjoy," a city news release states. "Live performances by Ballet Folklorico Dance and the Latin Magic Band will get everyone up on their feet to dance the night away. Bring towels, blankets and lawn chairs to relax and enjoy the celebration."

Following the Stockton Ports Games the fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m. The show will last about 20 minute. The Weber Point Events Center will close after the fireworks.

All Fourth of July events are free for the community.

Stockton Ports Games

The Single-A Minor League Baseball Affiliate of the Oakland Athletics, the Stockton Ports, will have 15 home games in July at the Banner Island Ballpark, also known as the Stockton Ballpark.

Stockton Ports are scheduled to play the San Jose Giants, Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, and Fresno Grizzlies at home this month.

Tickets begin at$15, plus fees.

Live music at Windmill Cove

Windmill Cove is having its 65th Live Music Concert Series this summer.

There are concerts every Saturday and Sunday at the Windmill Cove Bar & Grill at 7600 Windmill Cove Rd. in Stockton.

"All shows are free and family friendly," a flyer states.

StocktonCon Summer

StocktonCon returns this summer for a two-day weekend event in July.

The "pop culture convention" will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14.

Special guests will include Emilio Rivera from On the Block, Kevin Nash from WWE, Shannon Chan-Kent from Polly Pocket 2018 television series, and more.

Online pre-sale tickets start at $15 for one day and $20 for both days, plus fees. In store pre-sale tickets are $20 for two days in cash, there is an additional $2 for card.

Tickets at the box office the day off will be $23 for one day and $33 for two days.

Friday Night Live Music at Lincoln Center

The Lincoln Center is hosting four Friday Night Live Music events every Friday in July.

Live music begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m. every Friday at Lincoln Center at 374 Lincoln Center in Stockton.

William Smith will kick off the live music series on Friday, July 5 at the Brickwalk Stage.

Splash Fest

Splash Fest is coming to the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds on Saturday, July 13.

"A monumental event aiming to break the Guinness World Record for the largest water balloon fight," Splash Fest states on its website.

This is an event presented by Ballons Over Bullets.

"We're not just aiming to break a world record; we're aiming to ignite the spirit of community and camaraderie that defines Stockton," SynJohn Sears, director of Balloons Over Bullets stated in a news release. "This is our chance to come together, make history, and show the world the incredible energy and passion that Stockton embodies."

There will be over 209,000 water ballons, the website states.

According to the Splash Fest website, there will also be slip 'n' slides, dunk tanks, water games, and water gun battles. Aside from water activities, there will be local vendors, food trucks, and inflatables.

Astronomy in the Park

Have you ever wanted to view the moon or M13 (star cluster in Hercules) up close through the lens of a telescope? Then go to Oak Grove Regional Park on Saturday, July 13.

Telescope viewings occur once a month and feature a different deep sky object. This also happens on the Saturday closest to the first quarter moon.

Sunset is at 8:30 p.m. July 13. The moon and M13 (star cluster in Hercules) can be seen at that time. The Deep Sky Object, the M3 (Star Cluster in Canes Venatici) will be seen when the sky is at its darkest around 10 p.m.

The event is free, but the county charges $6 for parking, according toVisit Stockton.

The Concert: A Tribute to ABBA at Bob Hope Theatre

Make your way to the Bob Hope Theatre for "The Concert: A Tribute to ABBA" on Sunday, July 14.

"Step back into the '70s and experience the infectious energy of one of the greatest pop bands of all time," Stockton Live website states.

The concert will feature hits like "Dancing Queen," "Mamma Mia," "Waterloo," according to Stockton Live.

The show starts at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

Tickets start at $60.50 on Ticketmaster.

James and Giant Peach at Stockton Civic Theater

The Stockton Civic Theater Jr has a new show for July "James and the Giant Peach."

The show will run for four days starting Thursday, July 18 at 7 p.m.

"A beloved children's tale that follows the adventures of James, a boy forced to live with his cruel aunts. He discovers an enormous enchanted peach and makes friends with a spider, centipede, a ladybug and a grasshopper," the Visit Stockton Website states. "After rolling into the sea inside the giant fruit the group sets sail for New York City."

Tickets start at $14 for adults, and $12 for seniors, students, and children.

Christmas in July at Pixie Woods

Pixie Woods Children's Park will be filled with Holiday cheer for Christmas in July on Saturday, July 20.

The event will begin at 10 a.m. and go through 2 p.m.

General admission is $6, the city's website states. Children 2 years old and under enter free.

Slug Fest in Mudville Gabe Flores Jr. boxing fight at Banner Island Ballpark

SlugFest in Mudville with Stockton native Gabe Flores Jr. at the Banner Island Ballpark is a must-go event this month.

"Gabriel Flores Jr. is fresh off his win over Julian Rodarte for the World Boxing Association (WBA) Continental USA lightweight belt," the G Squad Entertainment website states.

Flores Jr. will be fighting in his hometown on Saturday, July 20 at Banner Island Ballpark, according to the website.

Tickets start $10, plus fees.

'Dr. No' at the Bob Hope Theatre

Head downtown to the Bob Hope Theatre for a classic movie on the silver screen.

Friends of the Fox Classic Movie series presents "Dr. No" a 1962 action, adventure film starring Sean Connery, Ursula Andress, and Joseph Wiseman.

The film starts at 2 p.m. Doors open at 1 p.m., the Stockton Live website states.

Tickets are $6 for children 4 to 12 years old. General admission is $12.

Jeff Dunham at the Bob Hope Theatre

American ventriloquist and comedian Jeff Dunham will be making a stop in Stockton this July with two shows at the Bob Hope Theatre for his "Still Not Canceled" tour.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. The show will begin at 7 p.m.

Tickets start at $57.

Stockton Tequila Festival

The Stockton Tequila Festival returns to Stockton on Saturday, July 27. This is an event by SMA Entertainment LLC.

The event will begin at noon at the Weber Point Events Center with an entertainment lineup including El Chicano Band, Delfonics, Rappin 4Tay, Dezzy Hollow and the Latin Magic Band.

Tickets start at $15 for general admission lawn seating (plus fees) and VIP reserved seating is $30, plus fees.
