Three of the New York Times cooking section's most popular Thanksgiving recipes are potato-related: a mashed potato casserole, potato gratin and cheddar mashed potatoes. As with potatoes, there's a Thanksgiving-preferred way for green beans to be consumed: the casserole, of course.
The best way to prepare your body for a delicious Thanksgiving dinner is to eat a nutrient-rich breakfast loaded with protein, healthy fats, and fiber. You really don't want to skip breakfast—or any meal—in order to "save room" for dinner.
While this is important for our everyday habits, it's especially crucial before Thanksgiving when we'll be presented with food options that are higher in all three nutrients than our usual fare.
Although you may be busy thinking about cooking for the big feast, everyone still needs to eat a nutritious breakfast on Thanksgiving. It's a no-brainer that the meal should be quick and easy, but there's a secret if you're trying to avoid belly rumbling before dinner.
But anywhere between about 1pm — 6pm is normal. It's kind of a late lunch/early dinner. Usually people won't eat another full meal that day, though they might have a snack earlier in the day if the meal is at 5–6, or have some leftovers in the evening if the meal is at 1 or 2.
