1986 Chevrolet Suburban Silverado - Trailering Special Additional Info:
One of the few survivor 80’s era Chevy Suburban’s around, particularly a ¾-ton. A true time capsule back to ’86, extremely original. A reliable, quiet and comfortable ride, exceptionally clean. 1986, purchased new in Tacoma WA at Vista Chevrolet. Soon thereafter moved to southern Idaho with the original owner, traceable via hardcopy records. At 30 years of age, this Suburban has experienced pride of ownership, well taken care of, absent from abuse and/or extensive exposure to elements. 106k well documented miles. This vehicle comes with a stack-up of its original docs, window sticker, option and cost list, dealership info, GM id card (vin w/ original purchaser), maintenance records and receipts, vehicle manuals, etc.
Its equipped with its factory 350ci, TH350 automatic, 4x4, 4.11 locking rear differential, A/C, tilt steering, cruise, PW, PDL, aux battery, cargo doors, 3rd row seating, bumper guards, factory deep tint glass, trailering package, 40gal fuel tank, etc. It rides on its factory steel wheels/hub caps, and 235/85/R16E Kelly Safari tires.
Approximately 7-months ago I installed a very mild 2. 5-inch Pro-Comp soft-ride suspension lift and shocks, mainly to improve overall ride quality and to complement its stance. I have the original front leaf springs and u-bolts to go with the truck upon sale.
Paint scheme is Canyon Copper with Tan. Original sheet metal is as straight as they come, with 95% original paint in very good condition, holding its smooth glossy finish. Residing primarily in the dry high-desert climate of southern Idaho, it has yielded an eye-brow raising rust free body and clean chassis/undercarriage. A quality repaint on front fender at some point, never found evidence of damage (possible replaced fender). Small ding on passenger side door dime size not visible in pics because of size. Small bolt holes exist under front doors (rocker lip) where steps once resided (I have those steps in a box). There are no flaws in body in form of major damage, dents or scratches.
Interior/upholstery amazing, one crack on a very nice original dash pad, directly in front of steering wheel. Factory radio has couple display pixels out, but radio works as it should. Headliner has spots where fabric is separating from cardboard. A/C system 100% intact, needs charge. Wiring, harnessing, hoses etc within engine bay and under-dash as it was from factory (not hacked, spliced, or jerry-rigged as seen with many older trucks).
All imperfections listed very minor cosmetic items. This is an honest listing, hard to find on eBay these days. Many pictures in listing to look through and decide for yourself its condition. THIS SUBURBAN IS TURN-KEY, get in and drive. Extremely nice, and a very-very solid foundation for any collector. It leaves room for occasional tinkering, without the need for any major overhauls or a costly restoration.
I love classic cars and trucks, and bought this vehicle due to its impressive original condition, with consideration to make this my primary vehicle. While under my umbrella, I quickly realized that I am not willing to impose neglect and wear that pairs with everyday use. My opinion, this vehicle needs to be with someone who appreciates its originality, drives sparingly for pleasure, and provides it with cover to preserve for future generations. It’s a very cool truck for a family to enjoy on weekends.
Take note that within eBay listing there are few pictures displaying the suburban with alloy rims and mud-terrain tires. The alloy wheel & mud tire combo is NOT part of this action sale, as they belong to another truck of mine. I simply want to show how aftermarket wheels can further enhance appearance of the Suburban.
I want a good experience for me as well as the buyer. If you have questions about the truck, you can call me. 208-830-4834. Depending on time of day and my availability, you may need to leave a message. I’ll make sure to get back to you as soon as I can. If during the standard work day, it may be evening before I am able to return your call.
Winning bidder is required to pay $1000 non-refundable down-payment via Pay-Pal or wire transfer within 2-business days of auction end, then remainder of purchase price within 7 business days of auction end. Only when full payment is cleared, will I sign the title over to the new owner and let the vehicle go. I reserve the right to end auction early, as well as cancel bids/bidders that I consider questionable or suspicious. I browse eBay listings regularly, and seems there have been non-paying winning bidders that cause a great deal of additional work for sellers. I will be watching in attempt to avoid such hassle.
Buyer is responsible of arranging transfer of vehicle. If shipping, I am willing to drive to shipping yard at locations within Boise or surrounding areas within 25 miles. I have no problem holding the vehicle at my home until details get worked out.
Thanks for looking
