Chopped sandwiches are taking TikTok by storm this year, thanks to the original version, the chopped Italian sub. This viral chopped sandwich trend involves chopping up all of the ingredients for a sandwich (meat, cheese, veggies, condiments), mixing them together, then scooping it onto bread to create a sandwich with evenly distributed ingredients. This chopped sandwich technique makes the sandwich more flavorful, easier to eat, and more fun.

The most popular chopped sandwich on TikTok is the Italian sub, and when we tried it ourselves we fell in love with the perfectly balanced taste. We jumped right into our kitchens and came up with nine more new chopped sandwich recipes to share with you. If you're looking to get creative with your lunch, you've come to the right place.

Here are 10 unique new chopped sandwich recipes to try.

#1 - Chopped Italian Sub

We can't skip the original, classic chopped Italian sub, the sandwich that started it all. With so many yummy ingredients all piled up, it's hard to be sure every bit of your sandwich has maximum flavor... unless you chop it up!

Our recipe has all the traditional ingredients for an Italian sub: ham, pepperoni, salami, provolone, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and a quick sub dressing made from salt, pepper, mayo, olive oil, red wine vinegar, and Italian seasoning. (You can also add pepperoncini if you like a little spice!)

To transform these ingredients into a chopped sub sandwich, just pile them on a cutting board and go to town chopping everything together.

When everything is chopped and mixed well, spread it onto a sub roll, stuffing it full, and enjoy. You get a taste of every single flavor in every bite!

#2 - Chopped BLT

The BLT is my favorite sandwich of all time, but it's often difficult to keep those tomato slices from falling out of the sandwich. Turning it into a chopped BLT sandwich easily solves that problem.

Our chopped BLT recipe calls for bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayo.

Served on toasted bread, this taste of a chopped BLT is definitely more than the sum of its parts.

#3 - Chopped Muffaletta Sandwich

The Muffaletta is a classic New Orleans sandwich that combines cold cuts with an amazing olive salad that's already traditionally chopped. Chopping the meat and cheese along with it elevates it even more.

Our muffaletta recipe calls for sopprasetta, cappicola, mortadella, provolone, olives, giardiniera (pickled celery, cauliflower, and carrots), roasted red peppers, parsley, capers, garlic, olive oil, and red wine vinegar.

Muffalettas are traditionally left to sit a while before eating, so that the juices can soak into the bread, and this chopped sandwich approach makes that magical soak even more powerful. The tangy, peppery flavors will be soaked into the meat as well, making it taste that much better.

#4 - Chopped Caprese Sandwich

Jo loves a good Caprese, whether served as an appetizer, salad, or even a sandwich. Why not chop it up and add an avocado to turn it into a substantial lunch option?

Our Caprese chopped sandwich recipe calls for fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, avocado, salt, pepper, and balsamic vinegar.

When it's all chopped up and served on a crusty baguette, it's a dreamy combo that reminds us of our visit to Italy. And that avocado adds a rich, creamy texture that also helps hold everything together.

#5 - Chopped Greek Sandwich

Gyros are classic Greek sandwiches, but sometimes we like a shortcut/vegetarian option that doesn't require cooking lamb. We combined classic Greek flavors into a fun chopped sandwich.

Our Greek salad recipe calls for cucumber, tomato, kalamata olives, green bell pepper, red onion, feta cheese, olive oil, red wine vinegar, salt, pepper, mayo, and fresh mint.

Served on pita bread, the flavor combo on this Greek chopped sandwich is so powerful, with the bright, tangy vinegar and olives and the sharp bite from the feta. The crunch veggies and creamy mayo bring it all together for a salad we just can't get enough of.

#6 - Chopped Chicago Hot Dog

One of the most unique hot dog versions around is the classic Chicago style hot dog, and as much as I love the taste of the Chicago dog, I find them incredibly difficult to eat with those large chunks of veggies. Chopping everything up is a brilliant solution and lets you taste every flavor in every bite.

Our chopped Chicago hot dog recipe calls for a hot dog, tomatoes, dill pickle, sport peppers, red onion, mustard, Chicago-style sweet pickle relish, and celery salt.

I can't express enough how much better this Chicago hot dog tastes with all the ingredients chopped up and mixed together. I chose to chop up the hot dog too, but you could easily keep that separate if you want to still enjoy that traditional "snap" from biting into the casing.

#7 - Chopped Hamburger

Stir things up at your next cookout with chopped hamburgers! You know that one bite in the middle of a burger, when the condiments mix perfectly and the pickle is there and nothing has fallen out of the bun? That's what you get in every bite if you chop up the ingredients.

Our all-American chopped hamburger recipe calls for a hamburger, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, dill pickle, ketchup, mayo, and mustard.

I really enjoyed the consistency of having all my ingredients mixed up on a hamburger, and you could easily adapt this technique for whatever burger toppings you enjoy. I chose to chop the burger up with the toppings, but you can leave it out if you want to keep it as hot as possible before adding your toppings and serving.

#8 - Chopped Club Sandwich

What's more classic than a club sandwich? Chopping the ingredients up and mixing them together brings a new spin on a lunchtime standard.

Our club sandwich recipe calls for ham, American cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayo.

Served between three layers of toasted bread, a chopped club sandwich will have your guests wondering exactly what they're being served... until they see those tell-tale frilly toothpicks!

#9 - Chopped Cubano Sandwich

A Cubano (or Cuban sandwich) is one of my favorites that I don't indulge in as often as I should. I love the tangy pickle with the rich cheese.

Our chopped Cubano sandwich recipe calls for smoked ham, roasted pork, Swiss cheese, dill pickle, and mustard.

Even served cold on a hoagie roll, a chopped Cubano is a delicious sandwich, but take it next level by grilling it or pressing it in a panini to warm it through and melt the cheese. So yummy!

#10 - Chopped Roast Beef Sandwich

My husband loves a good roast beef sandwich, with spicy horseradish and hot sauce. All the sauces and dressings make this is a great candidate for a chopped sandwich, so that everything can meld together into a consistent flavor profile.

Our chopped roast beef sandwich calls for roast beef, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, horseradish, mayo, sour cream, salt, pepper, and hot sauce.

Talk about a sandwich that packs a punch! I love the heat from the horseradish and hot sauce, combined with the freshness from the veggies. And if you're able to roast the beef yourself, the sandwich is even better.
